Today at CES in Las Vegas, we came across a company who has now partnered with Philips to help you know if you have bad breath before your girlfriend tells you.
Called the Mint this is not another blood alcohol reader, it is a bad breath reader. The pocket-sized Mint enables users to instantly measure breath quality and hydration levels based on Volatile Sulfur Compounds (VSCs) and moisture through a single breath sample. VSCs are the primary cause of halitosis, a condition created by normal anaerobic bacteria biofilms in the mouth.
Mint communicates wirelessly via Bluetooth LE to the free Breathometer smartphone app, offering users actionable results and feedback on breath quality and hydration. Users simply hold the Mint mouthpiece to their lips while the device draws out an air sample for analysis.

Philips is already selling electric toothbrushes and other dental care products so this is a great addition to the family. This is a product that is coming soon and will be coming to Australia for around the $100 mark. This product could be the difference between getting that first kiss from your date or a hug.
