Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has used CES 2016 to highlight its factory built police cruiser, the Dodge Charger Pursuit.
This might be just the sort of rig Australia’s police will be looking for when production of the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon finish up sometime in 2016/2017.
The big Dodge features so many police specific features that the boys and girls in blue will think that Christmas has come early.
Besides all wheel drive and a huge Hemi V8, police officers will enjoy 18” steelies (perfect for gutter hopping), beefed up cooling, brakes, transmission and electrics and wide flat seats (easier to get in and out of and without the hugging bolsters that cause back injuries to police wearing a gun and handcuffs).
Trimmed in thick vinyl seat coverings and rubber floor (think taxi easy clean) the vomit and blood so often accumulated in a late shift will be cleaned out in no time. This Dodge is about the most perfectly fit-for-purpose vehicle I have ever seen.
Meanwhile, in other Fiat Chrysler news, their U-Connect 8.4 infotainment system continues with improved personalisation and a touch screen that mirror smart phone functions such as screen customisation and pinch function.
