Apple will make formal announcements tomorrow about what looks set to be a range of products, including the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.  EFTM has details of just when these new phones will be available.

Taking up a huge auditorium like San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium means there’s going to be a big crowd, and that normally means some big announcements.

Leaving aside the other stuff, it’s a sure bet that the new iPhones will be announced.  This is the time of year and any variation would mean a whole new strategy for Apple.

So, with our ear to the ground, talking to retailers in Australia, looking at the patterns of info coming from Telcos and talking to those on the ground in San Fransisco we’re pretty confident about the dates we’re predicting for the new iPhone.

Tim Cook will announce tomorrow that pre-orders for the new iPhones will begin this Friday the 11th.

Critically, for things happening globally online, Apple uses US time for its launches, so online pre-orders for the new iPhones will commence late on Saturday Australian time.  Expect the telcos to announce similar timing come Friday when we expect their new iPhone plans to drop.

As for when you’ll get one in your hand?  EFTM understands the pre-order period for this new iPhone will be longer than normal, and deliveries to online orders will commence on Friday 25th, as will in-store sales, beginning with Sydney’s Apple Store around 8am on Friday 25th.

We say it annually, but the best way to ensure you get one is to order direct from Apple outright – they deliver by courier on opening day – no queues.  But hey, that doesn’t stop a heap of people from queuing up does it.

Now, I could be wrong, we’ll know in just a few hours.  Tim Cook takes the stage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium at 10am tomorrow, 3am Sydney time.
