The Mikey from Blue microphones is something close and has some excellent features which makes it a very useful option for anyone from families recording audio, or journo’s in Parliament House.

It has a range of sound settings for sensitivity to capture close or far audio, and importantly it has a line-in for those split feed events where you can get a line in from the podium microphone or event sound.

It’s hard to test a microphone to everyone’s liking, but without question this device offers a better sound that just the iPhone, with the added value of getting you extra sensitivity, a deeper sound recording and the line in really tops it off.
