There’s no question that one of the strongest game franchises this generation has been the Playstation-exclusive Uncharted series. But if you prefer movies over games, then you might be interested in watching all three games of the trilogy as movies.

Reddit user morphineapg used his free time to cut and edit all three games into movies, using the cutscenes and a minimum amount of gameplay between scenes to create a movie-like experience. In his own words:

With these projects I was trying to make movies that would be viewable whether or not you had played the game, or even care about playing video games, so I wanted to make them as close to a real movie as possible. This meant taking out as many chapter titles, button prompts, and more to make it seem less like a video game. There were certain aspects I wasn’t able to remove, such as the current weapon selected, or an occasional button prompt. I tried to focus mostly on the cinematics, but also include the minimum amount of gameplay to link them, especially focusing on the more cinematic elements of gameplay.

It’s interesting to watch as the length of the videos grows, from 114 minutes in Drake’s Fortune to 178 minutes in Among Thieves and a whopping 196 minutes for Drake’s Deception, obviously showcasing how much the games grew as Naughty Dog delivered each sequel.

The videos are only in 480p quality, which was a restriction of morphineapg’s hardware setup. But given the level of commitment to turn the amazing game experiences into an entertaining film, you can’t fault him.

If you’ve never played an Uncharted game, there’s a good chance you’ll want to after watching these. Bookmark them for later and watch them in one sitting – it’s a wonderful experience.
