You may not be happy about Channel 10’s lack of HD broadcasts when it comes to the F1, but if you own a Sony Bravia television, you will soon be able to catch up on your favourite broadcasts on your own time if you happen to miss it.

Sony today has announced a Channel 10 catch up TV service for its Bravia TV sets and Blu-ray players. The service joins the catch up services from ABC iView, SBS On Demand and Yahoo!7’s Plus 7. It’s destined to automatically appear on Sony’s sets some time in June.

The catch up service from Sony includes programs like Bondi Vet, The Graham Norton show and The Bolt Report. There will be ads included in the stream, although that’s all part of Channel 10’s master plan to avoid bankruptcy.

Given that the new battleground for TVs is in the content they are delivering through the internet, this is a welcome addition to Sony’s lineup.

(UPDATED: Turns out that F1 won’t be part of the service. We’ve adjusted the story to reflect this)
