  • Behind the wheel of another hot-hatch : Renault Clio RS200 Sport

I’m not sure about you, but I’m a large, powerful, luxury sedan type of man. My logic revolves around purchasing the largest possible piece of metal for your buck. So when a silly little hatchback comes my way via “The EFTM Garage” I usually behave like a kid whose...
  • The EFTM Garage – Renault Clio TCe120 Dynamique

It is hard to fathom just how many sophisticated hatch backs have inundated the market in recent times. Outside of the handful of legitimate “hot hatch” contenders the rest make do with milk bottle capacity engines, with moderate to surprising performance results.  This week in The EFTM Garage is...
  • BMW 328i Review – Dynamically blessed with a surprisingly throaty roar

Dynamically blessed, world renowned and the very definition of a status symbol. Yes, it’s BMW. As far as compact executive sedans go there are really only the two other Germans, Mercedes and Audi.   So what’s so premium about a 60k plus European sedan? Turns out quite a bit. EFTM...
  • The EFTM Garage – Mazda 6 Touring Wagon

It’s almost unanimous that Mazda are pumping out some seriously good looking cars right now. With the delightful Mazda 3 just around the corner it seems the Japanese giant are certain to maintain their sales chart success.  The impressive Mazda 6 range is again no exception and this fortnight...
  • The “other” muscle car you have to hear and drive – Chrysler 300c SRT Core

Surely “the muscle car” is facing a bleak future? With Aussie made examples rapidly facing extinction, the days of plonking a fat V8 into a family sedan are sadly drawing to a close. So other than exotic overpriced Europeans, where into the future can diehards find horsepower Nirvana? In...
  • The EFTM Garage – BMW 328i Sport Line

It’s been a busy time for the EFTM garage, we’ve just seen off BMW’s little hatch, the 116i. Now sits probably the German’s most popular variant, the 3 series. On offer this week is the 328i Sport Line. With surprising power and that familiar BMW drive, here is a...
  • The EFTM Garage – Chrysler 300c SRT8 Core

As far as large luxury sedans go, the Chrysler 300 series does it pretty darn well. Well how about chucking an enormously large capacity V8 under the hood? This week EFTM has in the garage the SRT8 Core, a stripped back, financially more accessible variant of the flagship SRT8....
  • Driving the BMW 116i Sport Line – Small hatch, small fortune, big returns

Ok, so I have a confession. Despite the hundreds of cars I’ve driven for EFTM… I’ve never spent quality time behind the wheel of a BMW other than a few years back driving the 318i owned by our very own Trevor Long. All that changed last week  as we...
  • EFTM Review – Chrysler 300c Luxury : raw good looks at a bang for your buck price

The reasoning behind choosing the right car differs dramatically from one buyer to the next. The rationale would naturally revolve around price, features and comfort. Others may delve deep into the spec sheet looking for performance discrepancies between models. But if straight out looks dominate your desires than surely the...
  • Mazda CX-5, top little All-wheel-drive SUV, but can it tow?

The days of big Aussie sedans crisscrossing our magnificent continent are just about over. Mid to large-sized SUV’s can lay claim to that with one such example being the Mazda CX-5. The petrol all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant now comes with a bit more plonk and a dash of towing ability...
  • EFTM : Battle of The Dual Cabs

In the crazed SUV dominated market there’s another category nipping at leading sales chart contenders. The continuing rise of the previously “tradie” exclusive dual-cab has seen models like the Toyota Hilux chip away at the best-selling vehicle mantle. Over the last month EFTM clambered inside many of the players...
  • The EFTM Garage – Holden Caprice V WM Series II

If you want the biggest slab of Aussie made automobile metal around there’s really only one choice remaining – The Holden Caprice.  EFTM has squeezed the flagship Caprice V model into its garage this week and it’s not the first time! We were wrapped with the WM Series 1...
  • Age Equals Taste. Hogs 3 Bourbon now in cans with cola.

Ever stumbled across Hogs 3 Bourbon? No? Here beginneth the lesson.  It’s a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey aged in newly crafted and charred American white oak barrels for three years. This delivers a reputation for depth of colour and a smooth, dry taste. It actually ranks quite well among...
  • EFTM first drive – Holden Trax LTZ

Car manufactures are always looking to push boundaries and design vehicles that capture the hearts and minds of the discerning motoring public. Concept cars quicker than ever are becoming reality, with radical in your face designs now dotting the streets. Even describing the category a car falls under is...
  • The EFTM Garage – Holden Trax LTX

What would be the world’s fastest road trip I Spy match? One that starts with the question “I spy with my little eye something beginning with S” SUV!, I hear you chorus. They are bloody everywhere, in fact the lines are now completely blurred when it even comes to...
