Uniden gets in on the wire-free home surveillance camera game: App Cam Solo

it's a crowded market - depends on your needs

Deja Vu anyone?  First Netgear Arlo, recently Swann, now Uniden – it’s getting crowded in the market if you’re looking for a security camera and don’t like the idea of running wires and cables everywhere.

Today Unitden announced the App Cam Solo, this little guy is fully wire-free meaning it is easy to install, and being weatherproof it can work indoors and outdoors.

Uniden claim the App Cam features advanced power-saving technology to provide up to 180 days standby time, battery life is a key battle ground for these wire-free cameras.

Viewing angle is 130 degrees and can be rotated to suit your mounting position.

There’s no mention of night-vision or cloud recording in Uniden’s release so we’ll test those things when we get our hands on the App Cam solo.

It does feature two-way talk so you can communicate with people at the door after you get an alert of motion on your smartphone.

You can buy a single App Cam Solo for $229.95, tow of them for $449.95 or a four-pack for $849.95.
