Straight out of the gate one of the world’s biggest accessories manufacturer Belkin has announced the “Boost↑Up Wireless Charging Pad” for the new iPhones to enable the seamless drop and go charging that comes with the new iPhones.
Wireless charging is not a new technology, but like anything, when Apple does it, the whole industry gets a boost.
For years I’ve seen the Qi charging company at CES spruiking their technology and it’s slowly been embedded in kitchen surfaces, cafe benchtops and even cars.
Thankfully, Apple chose to adopt this existing technology rather than create something new, and Belkin is the first out of the gate in Australia with a charging pad to suit the new iPhones.
For $99.95, the Boost↑Up Wireless Charging Pad will provide up to 7.5W charging for compatible devices, including a bunch of Android devices that already support wireless charging – but the real focus is on iPhone.

It will be available from this Friday at Belkin.com and Apple.com and will be in Apple Stores soon.
