The 2018 Holden Commodore Supercar has been revealed in a digital mock up released by Holden and it looks bloody fantastic.

If you thought the closure of the Holden factory was going to slow the company down, think again – I for one reckon it looks great.

This is the car that will take the grid next year in the Virgin Australia Supercars championship, with a thumping V8 under the bonnet.

However, in 2019 all that changes.  Triple Eight Race Engineering are working with the General Motors Performance and Racing Centre in Michigan to develop a Twin Turbo V6 engine to suit the new Generation 2 Supercar regulations.

The team hope to get approval to run a V6 powered Commodore as a wild-card entry at a few rounds next year before the full season in 2019.
