Limited edition Casio Edifice Toro Rosso watches launched at Melbourne Grand Prix

Two new models launched in partnership with the F1 Team

Before the action got underway in Melbourne last week for the Formula One Grand Prix, Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat headed to the beach to launch new Casio EDIFICE watches.

With Casio no longer a sponsor of the main Red Bull team after last year’s move to Tag Heuer as an “Engine Sponsor” the Red Bull Racing editions came to an end, but the Formula One partnership lives on through the Toro Rosso team.

Kvyat and Sainz launched two new watches the EQB-501TRC-1A and the EFR-556TR-1A with the brand motto of “Speed and Intelligence” at the heart of the design.

Drawing on the blue, red and gold colours of the Scuderia Toro Rosso logo, the watch and dials are a clear match with the team and feature smartphone based link features like global time choice for the regular travellers.

At the same time, Casio also released the new Smartphone link model, the EQB-501XDB-1A, which features further advances to the company’s popular smartphone link watches of the past.

This model features further advances to the popular EDIFICE EQB-500 Series Smartphone Link watch.

“The 2017 versions of our EDIFICE Scuderia Toro Rosso Limited Edition take technology to a whole new level for fans of sports watches and indeed fans of Scuderia Toro Rosso,” said Mr Shigenori Ito, Senior Executive Managing Officer of Casio.

“Together with the Scuderia Toro Rosso team, we share the common traits of speed and technology. In the latest Limited Edition models we have combined sporty good looks with ease of functionality and advanced technological excellence,”

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost added “It’s absolutely fantastic to actually have the chance to think and design such an amazing watch hand in hand with a renowned brand like Casio”

“As we all know, Formula 1 is an absolutely time-dependent sport, so this EDIFICE Scuderia Toro Rosso Limited Edition watch is something we all definitely need and I’m convinced it will make our lives easier, on and off track.”
