OVO Mobile continues to go from strength to strength, playing up the content offering to its customers with a new deal with The Australia Professional Drag Racing Series – 400 Thunder.
The Drag Racing series will stream live to OVO customers with no impact on data limits.
Signing on as the 400 Thunder’s new Telco and Media Partner, OVO will stream all 400 Thunder events online, with OVO customers getting it data free.
“OVO Mobile Drag racing fans can now watch unlimited mobile video and live stream content of their favourite sport without any data usage concerns,” said Matt Jones, CEO OVO Mobile.
“Not only will fans get all the live action, they’ll also get behind-the-scenes footage shot exclusively by OVO Mobile as the official Telco and Media Partner of Thunder 400 as well as all of last year’s highlights to watch on demand.
“We’re also excited to be helping the Queen of Speed, Rachelle Splatt make her comeback on the track after a ten-year absence as she joins OVO Mobile as our official Ambassador,” Mr Jones said.
The Drag series joins Audi Sport Customer racing streaming, Gymnastics live and V8 Supercar Audio and live stats on the OVO streaming platform offered data-free for users.
It’s a far cry from NRL or AFL rights, but OVO’s strategy seems to be to target sports and events with large fan-bases hoping to tap into that passion with a partnership level approach. Time will tell if its attractive to customers.
