It’s nothing new to see an American classic not available in showrooms here in Australia converted to right-hand drive by Aussies. But it happens in very small numbers. It’s now happening at scale with Shogun in Sydney receiving additional “Full Volume Certifications” from the Government.
What that means is Shogun on Sydney’s Northern Beaches can manufacture and supply unlimited numbers of new American Built Dodge RAMs, Ford F Series trucks along with their existing Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra range.
This makes Shogun the only Aussie company able to supply the full range of US Trucks to Aussies.
Herman Urriola, Director of Shogun Conversions said, “These full volume manufacturer certifications are in addition to the low volume approvals Shogun already has for the Toyota Tundra and new Ford 150 trucks and the Corvette, Camaro and Hellcat Challenger sports cars.”
The Sydney team purchase the vehicles in the USA and “re-manufacture” them from left to right hand drives as well as making any other modifications to suit Australian Design Rules with the major work happening at Shogun’s facility in the Philippines.
Expect to see more of these big beasts on the road as demand increases with the big utes we already have already being “pimped” by tradies to stand out from the crowd.
