Epson releases “ultimate home cinema” 4K enhanced projectors

stepping it up a gear, without the crazy prices

Epson has released a new range of home projectors into the Australian market offering a greater variety of input options and a higher quality output with what Epson describes as “4K enhanced”.

With so many new content options today, if you’re building your home theatre setup you need some options that will take into account these emerging technologies.

Given we’re only just starting to get 4K content in the home as a reality with 4K Blu Ray players and now that 2016 is the year of HDR it seems fitting that Epson’s new projectors are enhanced for this capability.

To be clear, these projectors are not 4K resolution, they are doing some technically stunning upscaling to digitally enhance the picture, while also being HDR capable.

This means you’ll get a better picture from 1080 content, and you’ll get a better result from 4K content than you would with a 1080 projector – if that makes sense.

Of course there are 4K projectors out there, but you’re not going to get them for these prices.

General Manager, Business Division, Epson Australia Craig Heckenberg said, “We want customers to achieve the very best cinematic experience at home, so we’re really excited to be introducing the EH-TW8300, EH-TW9300 and EH-TW9300W. The latest technologies integrated in these models, such as 4K enhancement and UHD Blu-ray and HDR support, mark a significant improvement in image quality and will really enhance the user’s overall experience. But what’s great is that they’re also easy to use, with motorised optics and lens position memory making everything from installation to every day use simple and hassle-free.”

As with the previous models, these feature two great features worth calling out.  Wireless capabilities on the “W” models allowing some cool wireless streaming from your smart devices, and secondly exceptional lamp life.

Epson tried to put some reality around the lamp life by saying you could watch a full length movie every day for seven years.

These new projectors will be available from September and prices are below:

  • EH-TW9300 $4,799 inc. GST
