Don’t you hate it when you’re stranded on an island and don’t have any rope or string to tie together the life raft you’re making from driftwood?  Bear Grylls always seemed to have some cord or string with him, and now with the Victorinox I.N.O.X you can too.

This watch has a bold and very masculine look.

A rubberised protector goes over the entire watch housing to offer solid protection from bumps and bruises, and there’s no belt-like clip to secure it to your wrist – the two ends of the band simply loop together.

And there’s good reason for that.  The entire watch band is made from paracord.  A super-strong thin rope or thick string – depending on how you look at it.

You can untie the entire thing and be left with two long strands of cord.

Perfect for keeping that raft together, or perhaps towing a car out of ditch. Perhaps.  The cord has an impressive 250kg breaking point.

This thing wasn’t just cobbled together either – 3 years of development from Victorinox, six months of trials and 421 prototypes.

And don’t undo the band for fun – it has to be sent back to Victorinox to be re-strung.

You probably won’t use it, but you’ll certainly have a great ice-breaker conversation point at the pub.

At $900 it’s not cheap, but it’s military grade strong and it’s a bloody good looking watch too.
