I’ll take any excuse to watch a supercar going sideways – and I’ll sit down and watch twice if it’s doing so on ice – so here’s something special – a Pagani Huayra BC in arctic testing at Bosch’s winter test centre in Arjeplog.

And while it might just look like a hoot, this is proving something very interesting.  Bosch are producing ABC and traction control systems for many many cars, but what do you do for a car which is produced in a total number of 20?

Proving that their technology can be deployed at any scale, Bosch threw the Huayra BC into the winter testing and this video shows something very important.  Get two wheels out on the ice and brake and that thing is going to spin spin spin.

Anyone who’s done levels of driver training might have done that test yourself.  So the software engineers behind Bosch need to understand the power under the hood and the traction as it happens and tweak the systems to suit.

Whatever they do, it works great, it looks great, and it makes a supercar safe.

Enjoy – Ice drifting at its best:
