There are some sensational phones available from a range of companies right now, most of the ones we talk about are over $1000 in outright cost. So, let’s have a look at a few on the market for just $99.
Here are the four phones I showcased this morning on Today Extra on Channel 9.
Optus – Alcatel Pixi 4.5
Price: $69 outright
Web: Optus
A 4.5 inch screen, running on the 3G network this is a great starter phone or for those who don’t need all the bells and whistles.
Vodafone – Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace 4G
Price: $99 outright
Web: Vodafone
Gotta tell you, this one is a sleeper – it’s snappy in performance, great bright screen and a robust but clean design. I really like this one and it’s just $99!
Telstra – 4GX Buzz
Price: $99 outright
Web: Telstra
Available in a couple of colours, this phone again has front and back cameras, a 4.5 inch screen and operates on the fast 4GX network.
Alcatel Pixi First
Price: $99 outright
Web: http://pixifirst.alcatelonetouch.com/
This guy is available from Australia Post stores, buy it there and then and put any SIM card in it. Front and rear cameras, not locked to any network – great for all users.
Now with all these phones, the cameras are not as great as the flagship phones, but hey – you’ve got to compromise somewhere. But the cameras work, and will certainly capture all your memories – perfect for social sharing.
Here’s a photo I took with an iPhone SE:
And here’s the same thing photographed with the Alcatel Pixi First:
What do you think?
Remember – when buying from a Telco remember they are locked to the network unless you pay and additional fee to unlock.
There are loads of phones at retailers like Australia Post, Woolworths, Big W, JB HiFi and Harvey Norman. Worth checking them out.
