With a strong heritage and a reputation to uphold, it’s important a company like Aston Martin are able to capture the authenticity of their products while still moving forward – and they’ve done that overnight at the Geneva Motor Show announcing the DB11.
“Fresh and Distinctive” design which you could hardly describe as daring, though while familiar it is a very modern take on the recent past for Aston Martin.
Perhaps the new look is most stark from the rear quarter or directly behind, but it’s an all-over new vehicle for Aston Martin.
A twin turbo 5.2 litre V12 is throbbing under the bonnet all sitting on a new lighter yet stronger bonded aluminium structure. It is the most powerful DB model in Aston Martin’s history.
They say it’s the most significant Aston Martin since the DB9 in 2003.
Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer said: “We aspire to make the most beautiful cars in the world. DB11 is the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that DB11 combines both exceptional design with the latest technology throughout. A brand new bonded aluminium platform, clever aerodynamics, a new characterful twin-turbo V12 and class-leading infotainment systems are just a few aspects which make this the sports car that will proudly spearhead Aston Martin’s second century plan.”
Following the DB10 which was everything James Bond, one can only imagine the DB 11 finding it’s place on the big screen too.
0-100 in 3.9 so she’s no slouch either.
