No, that’s not a typo – this is a colour colour printer. Most printers if they are capable of printing colour are actually black, grey or white devices. Lets face it, printers are boring. This effort from Canon – the MG7560 not only breaks that stigma, it’s one of the most connected printers on the market today. We gave it a crack to see what it’s like.
At under $200, this is bang for your buck at every turn.
Great design, a fun colour (also available in Black or White, but seriously – BORING!), touch-screen interface, heaps of connection options and nifty features.
I’m a simple man, and yep, the simple things impress me. On the MG7560 you can have the front “door” closed so it sits looking nicely on the desk, but when you press print on your device it quickly pops open and innovatively also folds out a paper holder too.
They call this a “cloud printer” – which is all very hip and funky, but I think for the most part its the local content and functions that matter.
Yes, you can print online content from emails or photo sharing sites, but the local network printing is what attracted me.
You can use NFC to tap and print from compatible devices, wireless printing was easy once connected to my WiFi network, plus – simple and seamless wireless Android printing and AirPrint printing for Apple devices.
Kids on the iPad or iPod can print direct, without ever going near your PC.
Throw in some photo paper and you’re going to be super impressed by the prints and while it’s not the fastest printer in the world, it’s as good as you’ll get with this feature set I think.
I have to think that this is one of the best options for families with kids at school doing projects and homework, especially when they have their own tablets or laptops. Simplicity and wireless – key to a good balance when it comes to your kids and technology.
Plus, I haven’t even mentioned it’s a scanner too – so it’s all you need.
