In a move that’s sure to upset some purists Harley-Davidson has revealed “Project LiveWire”, the first Harley-Davidson electric motorcycle – but relax, it’s just an idea right now, but it’s a serious deal for the iconic brand.

With the announcement of the project, Harley-Davidson is going to work with consumers across the USA who will provide insights on rider expectations for the project which will shape the future of the company’s first ever electric motorcycle.

Imagine being one of the selected few customers who get to test ride the electric bike through a test and simulation program.

And to carry the iconic names and brands across the project further, it all kicks off with a journey along “Route 66” visiting more than 30 Harley dealers before moving across the US and other Regions.

Expect this bike to be in the news everywhere it goes.

But what about the sound?  Harley say “Project LiveWire’s unique sound was designed to differentiate it from internal combustion and other electric motorcycles on the market.”

What the heck that means we don’t know, but they won’t be putting some prius sounding thing out there because that just won’t fly – even with the greenest of green Harley fans.
