You know sometimes the press release associated with a product is just too corny to even read – but when it comes to a knife designed to suit the outdoors, survivalist, and camping needs – the line “If it’s good enough for Bear” was as good as even I could think of. Bear Grylls has put his name to a Gerber knife and despite the commercial nature of his involvement you’d have to think he’s not going to be happy unless its right.
I watched and enjoyed each and every one of Bear Grylls survival shows back when they were on Pay TV, a great insight into some places that I’ll never see or even come near. And as someone who hasn’t even been camping in a decade I’m probably not going to use one soon (although interestingly camping with the kids has been discussed only this last week!)
Bear Grylls Ultimate Knife
This knife is named the Bear Grylls Ultimate Survival Knife and should provide just what any outdoorsman needs – a razor-sharp, high carbon stainless steel blade measuring 12cm which will cut whatever you need. Dinner, Wood, you name it.
End to end it’s just 25cm and weighs 300grams. There are two versions – serrated or fine edge and it’s all housed in a nylon and hard rubber military-grade cover and includes a fire-starter, diamond knife sharpener and a survival guide.
