The idea of an authentic Baseball ballpark in your local area might seem like the stuff of Hollywood, and you’d be right – however right now Baseball fans, and Baseball clubs across Sydney – or Australia if you’ve got the inclination – have the chance to own everything from the clay to the dug-outs that were used in the Opening Series of the MLB this month at the SCG.

I went along to the SCG for the opening demonstration game between the Aussie Baseball team and the LA Dodgers.  What the organisers had created in what is traditionally a stunning Cricket venue was nothing short of amazing.

The diamond was perfect, the outfield immaculate, along with the outfield barriers and the stunningly authentic dug-outs for the teams.

After four days of use, four great games, it all had to be ripped up and the SCG restored to its original configuration.

So what happens to all that infrastructure?  What about the clay used for the diamond and the pitcher’s mound.  That clay is special, it has to be a certain grade, a certain type, it was imported into Australia just for that event.

Imagine your local Baseball club could use that very clay on their own diamond or mound.  Imagine no more – start the bidding.

Auction site Grays online has almost everything you’d need to turn your amateur operation into a pro-Baseball ballpark.
