hi. love your tech life. and glad you added the download link, on the page. makes it easier for us totally blind people using screen readers, like, me, i use jaws. and maybe you could spread the word about blind people using adaptive tech on all sorts of devices, like the voice over screen reader built into apple products, the mac, mac book pro, mac air, the mac mini, ipod, ipad, iphone, apple tv, and there are windows screen readers, jaws from http://www.freedomscientific.com, nvda, (non visual desktop access) nvda, from http://www.nvaccess.org, window -eyes, which have partnered with microsoft, if you have office 2010 or 2013, you can get a free licence, http://www.gwmicro.com, system access, http://www.serotek.com, and for the android, there is talk back, which is google’s mobile screen reader, and works real good, heard some podcasts on a site called the blind-geek-zone, run by a guy, rick harmon, http://www.blind-geek-zone.net, and also some other good resources is apple vis http://www.applevis.com. and for linux, there is vinux which is an accessible version of linux, or you can get ubuntu, or linux, with the orca screen reader. and also one windows screen reader, based in the uk, dolphin screen reader, http://www.dolphin.co.uk. so, maybe you could mention this on the next show. love the podcast. use winamp, on a toshiba a300 satellite laptop, almost 6 years old. if the audio chip dies again, got it repaired once, when the real tech audio chip died last september. if that dies again, just going to get a new laptop, toshiba, so cheap, and jaws , nvda, window-eyes, and system access support windows 8, and windows 8.1, and jaws 15, has a touch cursur, and you can use it as a touch device.
like the four finger swipe on a window, will read you the title bar, and reads well, say in the news, or the weather app. you can get a 40 minute demo of jaws, and just reboot after every 40 minutes, if you have a spare machine. also works on the surface pro, not the rt. david wood bridge, has a accessibility blog, and he is the at coorodinator for vision australia. http://davidwoodbridge.blogspot.com. marvin.

I am running windows 8.1 and I downloaded a free program called “classic shell” , this gave my computer a windows 7 start button and got rid of the metro screen.
I now have a super speed computer that is as easy to use as windows 7.
If you try it you wont be disappointed
