Audi’s famous Quattro branding will appear on another model, this time the tiny A1. The smallest car the German company produces will now get four-wheel drive technology in ultra-limited numbers.

Just 333 of these tiny little rally-inspired cars will come off the production line. Each one will belt out a sweet 188kW thanks to an awesome 2-litre turbo usually found in the Audi S3. It will only be available in six-speed manual and will cover the 0-100 dash in 5.7 seconds. OK, it’s not Lamborghini speeds, but this is the tiniest of tiny hot hatches that will be much better suited to a gravel surface that the Pacific Highway.

Buy an A1 Quattro and you’ll also get a raft of styling changes from the typical A1 including sports suspension and a massive rear spoiler that leaves no doubt about what the A1 Quattro is all about.

Pricing is yet to be announced but Audi expects it will make first deliveries around the middle of 2012. Want one? Well, you can’t have one. The 333 that will be made will only be in left-hand drive. Sure, you could import one we guess, but good luck with that. 333 in the entire world…
