Active runner types are likely to already know the benefits of Nike+, with its smartphone app GPS tracking and social networking features. But if you don’t want to jog with your phone, Nike and TomTom have just paired up to release a Nike+ GPS watch.

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS offers a simple to use “tap screen” for keeping track of your run, which lets you tap the screen to start and stop, as well as reset lap times while running. The watch itself shows key information on your run, including pace, time distance and calories, and partners with Nike’s shoe-based sensor for more accurate information as well.

The watch can store previous run data as well, giving you a goal to beat, as well as offering reminders after five days of sitting on your backside and post-run acknowledgement to make you feel special after completing a session.
