Remember the days way back when playing Mario Bros. or Sonic the Hedgehog on NES or the Sega Master System? All those hours playing until the system glowed red? So do we. Now you can relive the 8-bit magic in adult form thanks to Jherin Miller.

Miller has created a series of artworks entitled ‘Pixels and Polaroids’. It’s an awesome mix of retro photography via polaroids with 8-bit artistry. While the settings are classic 80s style stuff, the people in them have been given the block makeover. The works are strangely alluring, with the backgrounds seemingly from the same era of the 8-bit game.

Of the work, Miller says, “The concept behind Pixels and Polaroids was to blend these two elements into one world where pixelated characters live through the eye of a Polaroid camera. My goal was to combine retro film photography and retro digital graphics into one interesting world, and you get to view this world and it’s inhabitants through these “photographs”.”

If you want to reminisce about the good old days playing as the Plumber as well as be seen to have some sort of appreciation for art, then you really have to check out Miller’s blog.
