Steve Kuhl Pirate Ship bedroom is every man's dream

Every man’s dream or every boy’s dream? We’re pretty sure that if you built something like this in your son’s bedroom, you would find it difficult to leave as well. Yep, that’s a floating pirate ship you see!

Designed by architect Steve Kuhl, the pirate ship bedroom is painted so that standing on the floor, you’re at the bottom of the sea. Look to the roof and there is a pirate ship just floating on the surface of the water. But it’s not all smoke and mirrors, this is a real pirate ship that you can get into via a rope bridge. Once on board the ship you have a deck, steering for the rudder, mast and even a lookout tower! No detail has been spared in this amazing recreation for kids.

If anyone has misbehaved, then send them to the jail. It’s on the bottom of the sea (that would be your bedroom floor) with rock like walls and even bars on the windows.

Kuhl told Freshome.com: “We used 2×12 ribs to construct the hull of the ship, covering them with layers of 1/2 inch plywood to act as the planking. Our genius faux finisher developed a bomb-proof blend of plaster and epoxy with integrated colouring to simulate an old ship’s hull.”
