The compact SUV will never be the same again istyle-wise with the release of Range Rover’s new Evoque. And it’s already sold out!
With the motoring industry going through some interesting times, the response by manufacturers has been wide and varied. The trends have seen small car sales skyrocket and soft roaders and small SUVs pick up the old station wagon and family car market. With the release of the Evoque, Range Rover has managed to combine the sporty trend-setting style of the small car scene with the convenience and luxury of an SUV. Underlining the combination is the fact that you can grab an Evoque in both four door and two door coupe.
Whether you go for the four door or coupe, you’ll be able to choose from Pure, Prestige or Dynamic models. Each model has a range of power options, from a 2.2 litre diesel outputting 110kW with two-wheel drive to a 2.0 litre petrol outputting 177kW with four-wheel drive and then the option of manual or automatic on each.
Inside you’ll get a 5-inch colour display with Bluetooth and an eight speaker audio system. Options also include HD sat nav and voice control as well as an 8-inch hi-res touch-screen display. There’s also climate control, push button start and leather steering wheel as standard. Keyless entry and start will cost you extra, as will the panoramic roof which adds that touch of romance to the seriously stylish sloping roof line.
The Range Rover Evoque is sure to bring a completely new audience to the brand as well as keep those already in Range Rovers motivated to buy. The Evoque maintains the luxury standards of Range Rover while gaining edgy, urban styling. The best bit is that it’s affordable. $49,995 plus on roads will get you into a car. But don’t be in too big a rush, the first batch is sold out, meaning you’ll be waiting until at least March 2012 to get behind the wheel of one.
